ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrive Christchurch & City Tour

Arrival in Christchurch by 11am and the City Tour begins! The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore Christchurch. We visit Hagley Park, the Canterbury Museum and the Botanic Gardens.

Visit to One of New Zealand’s best tourist attractions, the International Antarctic Centre near Christchurch airport provides visitors of all ages with an interactive, fun and exciting experience of Antarctica.($40-60 p.p)

Stay (Check in after 2:00pm): Adorian Motel, Christchurch (located just a 10-minute walk or 3-minute drive to Christchurch’s city centre)

Day2 Christchurch to Oamaru

Approx 3 hours drive
Oamaru, is a major town in the Waitaki District of North Otago, and one of New Zealand’s most popular travel destinations. A short distance from Timaru and Dunedin, this town is well known for its beautiful gardens, Victorian harbour and unique limestone architecture. Oamaru is also a short drive away from the wildlife sanctuary on the Otago Peninsula, home to the world’s rarest penguin species- The Yellow-Eyed & Little Blue Penguins.

Waitaki has a diverse landscape, that’s ideal for outdoor pursuits. Holiday activities include kiing (in winter), trekking, hiking, rock-climbing, jet-boating, game-fishing, windsurfing, gliding, bush-walking and eco tours. Main attractions include the Oamaru Blue Penguin colony and the grand Totara estate.

Stay: Alpine Motel – Oamaru ( located only 5 minutes walk to the town centre and also close to local restaurants and shopping centre. The motel is 3 minutes drive to the blue and yellow-eyed penguin colonies)

Day3 Oamaru - Mt Cook - Queenstown

From Oamaru around 2 hours drive is Mt Cook.
Drive through the Lake Pukaki & sensational alpine landscape of Mt Cook National Park – a scenic highlight! You may choose to take an optional scenic flight over Mt. Cook which is the highest mountain in New Zealand, reaching 3,754 metres (12,316 ft). It lies in the Southern Alps, the mountain range which runs the length of the South Island. A popular tourist destination, it is also a favorite challenge for mountain climbers. Mount Cook, New Zealand’s tallest mountain which helped Sir Edmund Hillary to develop his climbing skills in preparation for the conquest of Everest.

After that you head towards west for 2-3 Hours and will reach the beautiful city Queenstown, New Zealand’s favorite Holiday destination!

Discovery Sherwood Hotel is set in a goldmine village atmosphere, the perfect place to relax and unwind overlooking lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountain Range. Day4 Explore Queenstown

Today is free for you to relax and enjoy the endless options available in Queenstown.
You may try optional activities like bungy jumping, jet boating, white water rafting, four wheel driving, cruising on lake Wakatipu etc.

In the evening riding a gondola to the summit of Bob’s peak for panoramic with buffet dinner ($50-75 pp)

Day 5 Milford Sound & Cruise

The day starts early for you. Milford Sound is towards the west for approx 3 hours drive you will see Mirror Lakes, Cleddau valley, The Chasm, Mitre Peak, Bowen Falls, travel along the Devil’s Staircase and the shores of Lake Wakatipu.

You’ll be awe-struck by great sights from Fiordland National Park to Milford Sound, where you will cruise on the waters of this natural wonder.

Day 6 Fox & Franz Josef Glacier

Enjoy a visit to Arrowtown, a colourful township steeped in local history. Next is Cromwell and its sensational stone fruit. Then it’s a trio of lakes – Lake Dunstan, Lake Hawea & Lake Wanaka. Travel through Haast Pass which winds its way through Mount Aspiring National Park and dramatic mountain and forest scenery. View Thunder Creek Falls and take a rainforest walk. Continue north along the coastal road to Fox Glacier – a rare, still advancing glacier. (optional Fox Glacier scenic flight).

Stay: Glacier View Motel Franz Josef or Fox Glacier Motel (located just 2 minutes drive from the town centre. Nestled in a tranquil bush setting with superb mountain and glacier views, Glacier View Motel is an ideal base to explore what the West Coast has to offer)

Day7 Back to Christchurch

Checkout early and drive for north for for around 2 hours to Shantytown by 10am and experience the Heritage Park($30pp).

Your Shantytown Entry includes Steam Train Rides, sluice gun demonstration (when available) and Holographic Theatre Show. Than Visit the Greymouth Town and from there you drive through Arthur Pass National park to Christchurch. The travel from Greymouth to Christchurch is around 3 hours. We recommend you have your lunch at Greymouth before you start your drive back to Christchurch.
